A Word from our Chairman |
|
Welcome to the website of the St Andrew Society of Paphos. Our society was formed in April 1994 when a number of ex-pat Scots living in Paphos decided to break away from their 'mother' society in Limassol (The Caledonian Society of Cyprus). Since then our society has undergone several transformations in size and style but we have always endeavored to be friendly and welcoming to anybody who wishes to enjoy Scottish culture and traditions away from more traditional Scottish weather! |

Our membership is not exclusively Scottish, it is an interest in Scotland and her heritage which we consider important and try to promote. Today our society is small but remarkably healthy with a thriving dance class and many social events held throughout the year, details of these with regular updates, can be found throughout this site and on the events page but I personally would like to bring to your attention to this years AGM which is to be held on Saturday 11th February 2012. On a more somber note, it is with great regret I have to inform you of the recent passing away, in Edinburgh, of Iain Loudon-Cox —the founder of Paphos St Andrew Society—although not active in the society for many years he is remembered with fondness. Our sympathies go out to all his friends and family.
